Ross 2nds 15 - 20 Bromyard 2nds

In an entertaining end to end game, Ross RFC 2nds went down 15 points to 21 at home to Bromyard 2nds. Ross went 5 points down early on and were guilty of giving away to many penalties, from being over anxious. They got themselves back in the game with a try from second row Jack Evans and started to dominate up front and in the scrums, winning a lot of ball against the head. Some strong runs from prop Luke Ward, who was making his first start in the position, along with hooker Chris Price enabled Ross to gain some good ground, but often they just lacked the killer blow. Bromyard scored another try just after the interval to which Ross replied with a try of their own from flanker Paul Hayward. The game could have gone either way but it was Bromyard who sealed it with a converted try despite Pete Smith keeping Ross in the game with a try under the posts. The only difference between the sides was the Bromyard converted all their tries. The game was marred when Ross scrum half PJ Muldowney was tackled, ending up with an air ambulance trip to hospital with a suspected fractured vertebra. The GKC Motors man of the match was Pete Smith. This week, Ross 2nds entertain Evesham 3rds at home, while the 1sts resume action away to Gloucester Old boys.
