Ross RFC 2nds 7 - 27 Upton-on-Severn RFC 2nds.

In a thrilling home game against Upton 2nds, Ross 2nds were disappointed in losing 27 points to 7 in the merit table league game. The game was scoreless for half hour before Upton scored in the corner with a try from their pacey winger. Once again Ross had to re-shuffle their side with Lee Clements starting on the right wing and Sean Dobbs at second row, both putting in good performances in their debut games. Ross' pack looked solid and so did their defence, but it still could do nothing to stop Upton from scoring just before the interval. Ross re-grouped and acting fly half Craig Smith raced away on his own, only to be stopped by a high tackle resulting to a penalty try being awarded. Ian Phillips converted. As the game wore on, tired legs got the better of Ross and Upton scored further tries to secure their win. This week Ross 2nds are away to Ledbury 2nds. The David Kirk (Choice Technical Solutions) man of the match was Tom Muldowney at full back.
