Westbury RFC 2nds 32 - 0 Ross RFC 2nds

Ross 2nds RFC were optimistic before their friendly away match against Westbury 2nds RFC but they were comprehensively beaten 32 - 0. It was Ross' worst performance of the season despite having 20 players to select from. In blustery conditions, Ross just could not get things right, losing possession time after time in the rucks and mauls and numerous 'knock-ons' and poor passages of play let Westbury in to score tries throughout the game. Ross struggle within the pack due to lack of size and weight and this was hampered further after losing hooker Alan Fuller and No. 8 Ashley Nelmes in the first half through injury. Ben Davies did well standing in at hooker and so did Billy Russell in the second row in his first start for Ross but Ross never really threatened the Westbury try line. They hope to pick themselves up this Saturday with another away trip away to Evesham in the league. Ross' man of the match was Billy Russell.
