Ross RFC 2nds 7 - 5 Kingswood 2nds.
Ross RFC 2nds produced by far their best performance of the season playing at Greytree to Kingswood 2nds, winning 7-5. Ross fielded a young and inexperienced side, with 3 players making their debuts, including Ellis Rutch on the wing and Harry Haile at outside centre. The first half was an evenly fought battle with Kingswood scoring the only points of the half through a try in the corner. The 2nd half saw Ross grow in confidence with Lee Clement time and time again gaining yards with some excellent 'crash ball' running. He was backed up with support from flankers Paul Hayward & Alan Fuller and props Dave Lawrence & Martin Benjamin. Mid way through the second half Russell Walker broke over the gain line and he off-loaded from a last ditch tackle to No 8 Ollie Floyd who scored under the posts. Full-back Tom Muldowney converted. Kingswood came back at Ross for the last 15mins but they were denied by walk of blue & white from Ross who never missed a tackle. This was a great team performance and great applause must go to the whole side for their fearless tackling and for the way they gelled together. The Drop Inn man of the match was Lee Clement. This week Ross RFC 2nds are at home to Ledbury in the league.
