During the sixties new
changing facilities were added to the Ross Sports Ground, and in 1978,
the club purchased an ex Whitbread pub, in Station Street Ross on Wye
and transformed it into their HQ. After playing all of their league
rugby in the Midlands League, Ross joined the Gloucestershire League in
2000, starting out in Gloucester Division 3, they gained promotion to
Division 2 in 2002, but were relegated the next season. In 2005 they
were champions of Gloucester 3, and the following season they gained
promotion to Gloucester Division1.
At the beginning of the
2007/8 season Ross entered a Second team into the North Midlands
league, and are currently fielding two teams on a weekly basis.
HQ, in Station Street
was re-named The Drop inn during the 1990's, now run by landlady Josie
Bundy, and is open on a daily basis to the general public, with darts,
skittles and Pool teams making The Drop one of the best watering holes
in Ross on Wye.
