Ross RFC Ladies Touch section goes from strength to strength with currently over 30 ladies training on Monday nights at Ross RFC ground at Greytree.
The ladies have been to a number of tournaments already this season, in March Luctonians RFC hosted the first tournament of the season which Ross were the victors. April bought the Greyhounds tournament which was hosted at Pershore, Ross Ladies made the final but succumbed to old rivals Pershore and walked away with 2nd place. In May it was the turn of Bredon Star to host and Ross left victorious again after not losing a match. June bought 2 tournaments in quick succession, on the 11th Berryhill hosted and Ross came away with the win once again and on the 24th the first “Super Saturday” of the season Ross travelled to Old Laurentians in a tournament where both SW and NE leagues meet Ross came away with the cup as overall winners. On Saturday the 15th July Ross travelled to Stratford in the 2nd “Super Saturday” of the season. With some very tough matches and excellent touch rugby being played all day Ross lost to Pershore in the 1/4 finals to stop their dreams of retaining the cup. They did however go on to beat Old Laurentians and Stratford to walk away with the Plate and 3rd place.
Overall Ross Ladies have only lost 2 games during the course of this season, both to local rivals Pershore.
Ross are currently on 43 points in the league closely followed by Pershore on 41
Ross are currently top of the Midlands ladies touch South West league and we are looking forward to our home tournament on Sunday the 17th September. Everyone is welcome to come along and support.
