Ross U15s on tour at North Wales Rugby Festival

On the 7th April Ross on wye U15s travelled to North Wales to take part in the Mitours North Wales Rugby Challenge Festival at Denbigh RFC. The festival had teams from Wales, England and Ireland. The first day consisted of 4 games for Ross. The first against a team from Mold. This game was very evenly matched and ended in a 0-0 draw. The 2nd Game against a team from Bridgend. Louis Trotman scored 2 tries and Cameron Ogilvie (Captain) scored 1 to leave the final score at Ross 15-0 Bridgend. Next Ross faced a team from New Brighton, Ross were dominated in the first half and conceded 3 tries, they came back fighting in the 2nd half but could not get through the New Brighton defence. Final Score Ross 0-15 New Brighton. Ross final game of the day was against Darlington. Darlington put first points on the board with a quick try, Ross, however came back to score 3 tries, try scorers were Callum Coe, Cameron Ogilvie and Josh Lewis.
The 2nd day Ross travelled back to Denbigh in high spirits. The first game against Irish team County Carlow, Ross had first points with a try from Henry Watkins but a last minute try from County Carlow ment that the match ended with a draw 5-5.
Ross made it to playoffs for 3rd/4th place against Darlington. Ross scored first with a try from Ben Pilot, swiftly followed by a try from Cameron Ogilvie. After half time Ross scored a further 3 tries from Jack Edwards, Callum Coe and Louis Trotman. It was a brilliant match which showed true teamwork and support from all of the team. Final score Ross 25-0 Darlington
The tour was a great sucess and all players and parents alike had a great weekend. Ross U15s are looking to tour to France next year to compete in the Rugby French Challenge. Ross RFC Juniors are always looking for new players, sponsors and volunteers.
