On a warm autumn morning Ross U16s welcomed Luctonians U16s to Greytree. Play was very intense from the start and both teams had brilliant defence and were very evenly matched. Lots of well practised plays could not get through the oppositions defensive line. Ross were the first to break through and Ross No10 Ben Pilot got first score on the board for Ross. He also successfully converted his own try. Ross Scrum half Josh Lewis scored next. Lucs managed to break the line to claw back some points with a try which Ross responded to courtesy of Jack Edwards scoring. Half time score Ross 17-5 Lucs. Lucs bought so many subs they almost put out a whole new team 2nd half but Ross were not fazed. Jack Edwards crossed the line for his 2nd of the match. Lucs came back and got a converted try followed by Louis Trotman scoring for Ross. Final points went to Lucs with a try in the dying minutes but at the final whistle Ross won 27 – 17. An excellent match in which everyone of the Ross boys put in 100% and the team had an outstanding performance. Ross U16s next match is on the 29th October away to Worcester.
