Ross on wye 29 North Bristol 10
Ross got back to winning ways last Saturday with a comfortable 29-10 win at home to North Bristol and returned to the top of the league as a result. After the previous weeks defeat Ross needed to bounceback quickly and after absorbing some early doors attack from the visitors Ross took the lead from their first incursion into the visitors twenty two. Some good approach work from the forwards Ross moved the ball quickly right creating the overlap and putting centre Dan Field in to score in the corner to put Ross 5-0 ahead. Within minutes Ross were 10-0 up with almost a carbon copy of the first score but this time they created the overlap on the left and put winger Luke Mair into score. For the remainder of the half Ross just did not let the visitors into the game, their error count was low and they retained possession brilliantly and further scores came from Dan field and Thai Hayward seeing Ross go into the break 24-5 ahead. Throughout the second half North Bristol where a constant threat, however the Ross defence was outstanding and they absorbed all what hosts could throw at them. As the game entered the final quarter fullback AJ scored in the left hand corner to see Ross home 29-10.
With league leaders Cheltenham North losing, Ross went back to the top of the league.
The O James Decorators man of the match was Chris price who had a dynamic game with ball in hand.
Next Saturday Ross travel to Bristol to play Old Colstonians a 2.30pm kick off 26th Jan.
